Christian Aid does festivals '07
by Pressureworks, published 12 June, 2007
It wasn't much of a summer but thousands of us still braved the mud for festival season - Christian Aid was at many of them speading the cut the carbon message. Check out our pics
This year, the campaign message is simple: we must Cut the Carbon. Climate change is already affecting the poorest people in the world and we need to be accountable for our actions.

Our biggest and best presence of the summer, read all about it here.
WOMAD
We’ve now scrubbed the mud off everything we own, and are back from the slushy Wiltshire fields that were the WOMAD festival!

It was an awesome weekend, with loads of people getting involved in our Cut the Carbon message. Nearly 2000 festival-goers signed our petition to reduce international carbon emissions, and our foam hands were snapped up within hours!

The world music was as amazing as it was eclectic, with performers from all over the world – where else can you have the chance to go dancing in a Brazilian club, bop along to Mr Scruff, laugh along with Catalan cabaret and marvel at Maori tribal dancers all in one night!

Check out the photos in our gallery here.
Lovebox Weekender
Set in the green and leafy surroundings of Victoria Park, London, Lovebox Weekender 2007 experienced the unusual phenomenon of time-travel!

Four time-travelling astronauts arrived from the future to warn unsuspecting festival goers of the impending destruction of planet earth. They encouraged Londoners to cut their carbon and sign up to the Christian Aid campaign, helping the team get over 2000 sign-ups!

View photos from the weekend here.
T in the Park
Christian Aid rocked T in the Park this year! With solar- and wind-powered phone charging, a treat for all those empty batteries around site, and a giant inflatable bungee run, we made a great impact.

With 1,700 festival-goers signing up to our Cut the Carbon petition, T in the Park heard our message loud and clear!

Glastonbury
Christian Aid is back from the mud and music filled bastion of British culture that is Glastonbury. It was an amazing week for us and our 'climate changed: let's cut the carbon' campaign.

About 3,500 festival-goers signed up to our campaign to tell the Prime Minister that British companies must disclose their full carbon emissions and aim to reduce their emissions by 80% by the year 2050.

Check out the photos to see what happened.
