Write to your MP about the Climate Change Bill!

Major victory on the climate bill
Thanks to your campaigning, UK-listed companies will have to report on their emissions.
In a major victory for campaigners like you, all UK-listed companies face having to make annual reports on their carbon emissions after the government accepted an amendment to the Climate Change Bill.
The government conceded the key Christian Aid demand during the House of Lords debate on the bill last night.
If the amendment passes the House of Commons, companies that are listed on the London Stock Exchange will have to comply with the new reporting rules.
Two weeks ago Christian Aid launched a major advertising campaign asking the public to write to Parliament and the Prime Minister on the subject.
Thousands of you did just that: emailing, texting and sending in postcards to Gordon Brown and MPs, adding your voices to the 20,000 who have emailed MPs on the issue.
Mandatory reporting for companies was one of the key demands of Christian Aid's Cut the Carbon march last summer and of our climate change campaign since it launched in February 2007.
So a big thank you to all of you who played a part in this important victory in the fight against climate change.
But the battle isn't over; we still have to convince the government to raise their ambition to cutting Britain's carbon emissions by 80 per cent. The current 60 per cent target will not do enough to stem global warming.
