The Pressurepoints Scheme
Work with us to campaign, fundraise and increase awareness about development issues. Run a project on campus as a Volunteer or a Rep. Stay involved from 30 minutes to a full year.
We'll work in the same way with you as we do with overseas organisations: in partnership. You know what's going on at your campus, so we won't tell you how do to stuff there. We'll work together to find the best way of getting students active. Here's how.
Step one: pick an issue
We work on a number of different issues, from conflict resolution to climate change. We campaign on issues where we know we can have an impact – for example, on Trade Justice. At the moment we're best placed to support campaigns around:
- Trade Justice & Fairtrade
- Climate Change
- Conflict
- HIV/AIDS
Step two: how involved do you want to be?
There are three ways of being involved in the Pressurepoints scheme. Takeaways: Download or order a resource pack that will help you run an activity that'll last a few hours. It's free, won't take much planning, and requires zero commitment.
Student Volunteers: Stay involved with us for a term. Run a project – perhaps an event or a publication.

'We'll give you the training, resources, support and a budget to make your idea happen.'
This could be one that we suggest or your own idea. We'll give you the training, resources, support and a budget to make your idea happen. You can do this on your own or as part of a group.
Student Reps: Stay involved for an academic year – work for about 5 hours a week, depending on exams and other commitments. Run a project and do some monthly assignments. Get all the benefits that Volunteers get plus more including getting paid £5.35 per hour and getting a reference out of it.
